Assistant Coach: Andrew Merski

Coach Andrew Merski joins No Panic as an Assistant Coach for the 2026-2027 season, bringing three years of playing experience and a background as a middle blocker. Alongside his volleyball career, he brings four years of teaching experience as a math instructor - skills he now puts to work breaking down the game for new players.

Why He Coaches at No Panic

Andrew has played regularly at No Panic for two years, getting to know the players and coaches along the way. That love of teaching skills to new players and passing on his love of the game - made coaching an easy call.


Coaching Philosophy

Andrew tailors his approach to the player - some bring energy naturally, others need a nudge to join in. Either way, he sets clear expectations, makes sure every player feels they can make an impact, and pushes the whole team to improve together.

Specialization

Andrew specializes in blocking and hitting, drawing on his own experience as a middle blocker. He emphasizes the "how and why" behind every skill, tying technique back to game strategy.


Personal Interests and Fun Fact

Off the court, Andrew is a die-hard multi-sport athlete - pickleball, racquetball, ping-pong, basketball, whatever's on offer - with the occasional video game session on the rare day he's not playing something.

Fun Fact: Andrew has three brothers - including one who's the second-best pickleball player on his college's team. Andrew's training to beat him.
