Coach Kory Borde, of Sterling, VA, began his volleyball career as a competitive beach player in Clearwater Beach, Florida, competing professionally before transitioning into coaching. Over the past decade, he has coached athletes at every level, from Varsity and JV high school programs to travel teams from U13 through U17, including a role as Director of Youth Development at Shenandoah Surge Volleyball Club.

Why He Loves Volleyball and Coaching Philosophy
Volleyball challenged Kory in ways no other sport could - the combination of athleticism, teamwork, strategy, and constant learning. His coaching philosophy is built around accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement, focusing on fundamentals, volleyball IQ, mental toughness, and competitive resilience to prepare athletes for long-term success in volleyball and in life.

Kory's goal is to help every athlete become the best version of themselves by creating a culture built on accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement - preparing players to compete at the next level, whether that's earning a starting role, competing on an elite club team, or pursuing collegiate volleyball.
Personal Interests and Fun Fact
Outside of volleyball, Kory enjoys strength training, beach workouts, mentoring coaches, and spending time with his family.
Fun Fact: Kory originally attended the University of Tampa to play collegiate soccer. After being introduced to volleyball, he discovered a new passion that ultimately led him from the sand courts of Florida to coaching hundreds of athletes across the DMV.
