Coaching Philosophy

Coach Hector believes that simple is best. He introduces a few key concepts at a time, helping athletes build a strong foundation before moving into more advanced skills and strategies.

Because every athlete develops at a different pace, he adapts his instruction to meet players where they are. By breaking complex skills into manageable steps, he helps athletes build confidence, stay engaged, and achieve lasting improvement.

Vision for the Season

Coach Hector’s goal is to help the team play with cohesion, confidence, and passion. He wants athletes to improve their individual skills while developing trust, communication, accountability, and genuine connections with their teammates.

His advice to players is to practice at home whenever possible. Even a few minutes of ball-control work, footwork, or hand-eye coordination each day can build the consistency, discipline, and confidence needed to succeed.

Off the Court

Outside volleyball, Hector enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games and video games, and watching anime. He is also a dedicated Washington Commanders and New York Yankees fan.

Fun Fact: Hector loves animals and is the proud owner of two cats, Sylvie and Ivy. He hopes to add a dog to the family someday.
